Centrally located in the UNESCO-protected Dubrovnik’s Old Town, within the city walls, La Vita e Bella I – Plovani Skalini is a one-family or friend’s house. It’s situated on Dubrovnik’s northern face hill, overseeing the Adriatic Sea and Lovrijenac Fortress.

The house was completely renovated and opened to the public in 2018.

Interior and amenities

The interior design is cozy, warm, rich in materials and amenities, stylish, and elegant. There’s a flat-screen TV on every floor, as well as an A/C with remote control for adjusting the temperature (also heating in winter). You’ll find a safe deposit box in the house, a huge bookshelf with plenty of books you’re welcome to borrow and read while you’re staying there, and a piano. Bathrooms are fully equipped, also with luxurious complimentary Etro toiletries; there are bathrobes available, a hairdryer, an ironing set, and complimentary slippers.

There’s a double bed on the ground and on the second floor and an additional sofa bed in the living room.

At La Vila é Bella, you might get the best sleep of your life! We value your rest highly and believe you should get the most out of it, so the mattresses are of the highest quality!

Wifi is fast and free.

A fully equipped kitchen with a huge fridge, a dishwasher, an electric kettle, a coffee machine and a variety of complimentary Nespresso coffees, various teas and cacaos, snacks (or fruits), a bathroom with a shower, a room with a huge and extremely comfortable double bed.

First floor

 A cozy living room with a lounge area, lots of books, and a piano.

Second floor 

A sleeping room with a huge and extremely comfortable double bed, a bathroom with a bath, and a stunning view of Dubrovnik’s old town, including the Adriatic Sea and Lovrjenac Fortress.

To reach our villa, you can enter Dubrovnik Old Town through Pile Gate or through Buža Gate. If entering through Pile Gate, there will be stairs uphill. This is why we strongly recommend you enter Dubrovnik Old Town through Buža Gate. There will be just a couple of stairs uphill and then another couple downhill. Not a big deal, even with the luggage. 

As you will soon learn, taking stairs up and down the charming little streets of Dubrovnik Old Town is part of the experience. This is how people have been doing it for centuries around here, and we recommend you do the same. Stroll along the narrow streets, explore, get lost, get found, and enjoy the rich history of this amazing city. You’ll find Sponza Palace just a few minutes’ walk away; Stradun street is even closer. Onofrio’s Fountain is just below our villa, as well as many shops, restaurants, and bars. Banje beach is less than 15 minutes walk away. The nearest airport is Dubrovnik Airport, 19 km from the property.

Things to note

– The cleaning service is not provided (unless requestd, fees may apply) for stays shorter than three nights.

– Dubrovnik is UNESCO protected, so no elevators are allowed to be added to the old houses. You will also have to take a couple of stairs to reach the villa.

– We’re not staying at the property, and there’s no reception there, so we’re asking you to contact us with your time of arrival information so that we can be there for the check-in when you arrive. If you prefer a self-check-in, please let us know in advance.

– Check in: 3pm -11pm; check out: at 10am; late check in (after 11pm): 10 eur

– Self check-in: possible through the JustIN Mobile application; we’ll send you the e-key after the application is downloaded to your mobile device.

– Tourist tax of 10 Kuna (1,3 euro) per person per night is not included in the price and must be paid in cash at check-in.
